Since it’s inception, the Hollis Trails Committee has relied on volunteers to operate and keep the trails in pristine shape for everyone in all seasons. Team members like Harry Russell (shown above) put in hundreds of volunteer hours each year to provide the best possible trails. All volunteers use their own equipment and donate their own time to helping the town of Hollis keep the trails open for all to enjoy. Keep in mind none of this would be possible without the generosity of the few private landowners and the town of Hollis NH that allows public use trails on their property. Please RESPECT THE TRAILS, STAY ON TRAIL, CARRY IN – CARRY OUT
Our full Trail Committee Roster is available on the town website
Eric McIntyre and Sherry Wyskiel (Co-Chairs of the Trails Committee) at the Hollis 4th of July parade
Craig Birch – chairman and volunteer of the Hollis Forest committee is a big help when it comes to helping us with tricky and dangerous tree issues!
The Hollis Nor’easters help continually with trail maintenance and help with many large projects, water bars, new trail development and much more. They also groom the trails for snowmobiles as weather permits
And our so many other volunteers including our local residents. These invisible “trail stewards” are always out walking, picking up sticks and other smaller obstacles, and when they find other obstacles they can’t move, they report them with TrailCare app so our team can gather and fix the issue faster!
We utilize electric chainsaws for early morning and evening cuts to keep down the noise. Our vehicles, owned by the volunteers themselves are equipped with winches, shovels, axes and tools to get the job done safer & faster
Mark Malone is one of our newest members on the Trails Committee and as you can see he’s an avid mountain biker and outdoor enthusiast. He loves riding the trails and helping out with maintenance and bridge projects and currently acts as our secretary for meetings
Our volunteers in the horse community clean up after themselves and keep our trails clean.
